To support students who are new to skiing we have organised a series of lessons at Chatham Snowsport Centre. These are aimed at anyone who has not skied before and will develop their basic skills. This includes putting on ski boots and skis correctly, being able to do a basic snowplough, and most importantly, stopping safely. If your son has never skied then I strongly recommend he attends. It's better to learn the basics now, so when you're on the snow you can avoid being stuck on the nursery slopes.
The lessons will be over six weeks in the Summer term and the cost is £71, which includes ski equipment hire and transport. The sessions are on Tuesday for the following dates:
9th June
16th June
23rd June
30th June
7th July
14th July (please note this is during Activities Week)
We will meet in Reception at 2pm to change and travel to the centre, and aim to return to school by 4.45pm each week.
If you would like to take part please goto iPayImpact and complete the relevant information.
When thinking about what to wear on a dry ski slope it is important to remember the matting used is not soft like snow! It's therefore important to cover up and wear things you don't mind getting scuffed or scratched. Old clothes are best.
Make sure you have the following to keep you warm and safe:
Long trousers
Long sleeved top
Thick socks
Gloves
A warm jumper or coat (remember the Autumn can be changeable!)
